Current: Re-elected to the 10th National Parliament as the member for Tari-Pori Open Electorate seat in the 2017 General Elections as a People's National Congress Party candidate. Joined the PANGU Pati in mid- May 2019 and announced to lead the PANGU Pati. Elected the 8th Prime Minister on 30/05/19, with 101 votes against Sir Mekere Morauta with 8 votes. He also holds the Ministry of the Bougainville Affairs following a cabinet reshuffle on 01/10/20, and as caretaker of Defence, 3rd term in this Parliament.

Biography

Religion: Christianity- Seventh Day Adventist (SDA)
Primary Education: Completed his Primary Education from Minj Primary School, Jiwaka
Secondary Education: Completed his Secondary Education from Kabiufa Adventist Secondary School, Eastern Highlands Province
Tertiary Education: Completed Tertiary Education from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1993, and again in 2000.

Achievements: Earned a Bachelor in Arts Degree in 1993, a Post Graduate Honours Degree in Environmental Science in 2000 and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Papua New Guinea. Developments brought into the Hela Province; such as roads and infrastructures, electricity, bank, New Hela Technical High School and many more.
Community Interests: Make Tari-Pori and Papua New Guinea a Safer Place
Last Occupation Prior to Elections: Appointed Acting Assistant Secretary of Policy with the Department of Personnel Management (2001-2006)
