Current: Re-elected to the 10th National Parliament as the Member for Imbonggu Open seat during the 2017 General Elections as an Independent Candidate, appointed Minister for Justice on 13/04/2022 (G.274), following a minor cabinet reshuffle under the Marape-Basil cabinet, 2nd term in this Parliament.
Past: First elected to 6th National Parliament for the Imbonggu Open in the 1997 General Elections. Declared winner on 14/8/98 following recount ordered by court of disputed returns, displacing Mr. Peter Peipul as member. Appointed Minister for Public Services for 1 week in October 1998. Disqualified from parliament by supreme court decision on the 28/10/98, re-instating Mr. Peipul to office. Appointed Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology in the O'Neill-Abel Cabinet from August 2017 to May 2019. Served as caretaker Minister for Justice and Attorney General from 16/11/2020 to 19/12/20, then served as Minister for Inter-Government Relations from 07/06//2019-12/04/2022.
