Past: First elected in to the 7th National Parliament in the 2002 General Elections for the Namatanai Open seat as a People's Progress Party Candidate. Appointed to Parliamentary Referral Committee on Communications on the 18/09/2007. Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs, Deputy Opposition Leader 2006-2007. Re-elected to the 8th National Parliament in the 2007 General Elections for the same seat as a People's Progress Party candidate. Permanent Committee on Pension and Retirement Benefits, Permanent Committee on Standing Orders, Special Committee on Agriculture and livestock. Appointed Minister for Mining on the 5/8/2011 in the O'Neill-Namah cabinet. Re-elected to the 9th National Parliament in the 2012 General Elections for the same seat as a People's Progress Party candidate. Reappointed Minister for Mining in the O'Neill-Dion cabinet following formation of government August 2012.
